Return to the past

Last Friday, an old high school buddy called me about purchasing his first mountain bike. He knew that I had been involved with bikes for some time after high school and valued my advice. I was both flattered and excited to talk with him. He lives in Baltimore, Maryland and I live in New York, about 4 hours away so I'm going to take a trip down to help him get his first rig and to see what MD trails has to offer.

My buddy and I have not seen each other since around 1990 -1991 so I am anxious to see him. We used to actually ride BMX bikes together. We weren't racers or very hardcore but we could do freestyle tricks with the best of them. Endos, tailwhips, wheelies, surfing, bunny hops, cherry pickers, table tops, etc. you name it we could do it (or had very valiant attempts). He said he had gained some weight but he has always been very active in martial arts and snowboarding. He was always an aggressive rider so I think that mountain biking would be an excellent sport for him to partake in.

I will return with more details and hopefully some fun stories in a few weeks.
